A Carnival Chocolate Melting Cake Recipe to Try at Home

Food on cruises is always something to be suspect of, and with good reason. Feeding 3000 people daily on a floating vessel is a feat only done by true masters. 

While the overall quality of the food received a hit or miss rating from me in my food report, there were some amazing gems mixed in with some unfortunate misses.

One of those was the warm Carnival chocolate melting cake, a dessert so rich, so decadent that my fiancee ordered it seven nights in a row.  While that may be impressive, what is more impressive is that my anti-chocolate palate was satisfied such that I even ordered it a few times myself.

Ithaa Review – An Underwater Restaurant at Conrad Maldives

The Conrad Maldives Rangali is full of over-the-top dining experiences, but perhaps the most extravagant is Ithaa. Ithaa is an underwater restaurant situated five meters below the surface where you can dine surrounded by views of coral and fish. Options for dining include a four-course set menu lunch, a seven-course set menu dinner, or a mid-morning champagne hour.

As you might imagine, the prices for this once in a lifetime experience are steep. At the time of our visit in 2020, the Champagne hour would set you back $85, lunch was $220 per person, while dinner ran a cool $330 per person (and these prices are all before taxes and fees which are an extra 22%).

We decided to take a middle of the road approach and have lunch at Ithaa. Note that reservations are required, but on the day we dined only three out of the seven tables were full.
