Hilton Northolme vs Hilton Canopy in Mahe, Seychelles

As long-time Hilton Honors members, we often love to use our points to splurge at their high-end resorts around the world that we may otherwise not afford outright.

In the Seychelles, we were looking at two options on the island of Mahe- the Hilton Northolme and the Hilton Canopy. After visiting the country twice, I was able to stay at both properties on each visit.

In this one, we thought we’d break down the differences between the two properties as their amenities, ambiance, and overall experience to guests is quite different. To put it bluntly, depending on your travel style, you may lean towards one over the other pretty quickly.

So let’s compare the key differences between the two Hilton hotels in the Seychelles!

Please note: We stayed at the two hotels approximately six years apart. Operations may have changed over time. Likewise, there are more hotels in the Seychelles in the broader Hilton portfolio like the DoubleTree Allamanda Resort, Mango House by LXR Hotels, and L’Escale Resort Marina and Spa by SLH. We are not including these in the comparison- only the Hilton Northolme and Hilton Canopy.

Although you can alter any of these based on your interests, we want to share what we think the absolute minimum amount of time is to do each of these islands justice.

Should You Take a La Digue Day Trip or Stay on the Island?

If you’re visiting the Seychelles, odds are good you have visiting Anse Source d’Argent on your must-experience list. This beach, located on the tiny island of La Digue just off the east coast of Praslin, is one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever seen and has earned many accolades as being one of the best beaches in the world.

So you’ve decided you want to go, now what? You have a decision to make on whether you are going to stay overnight on La Digue or take a day trip from one of the nearby islands.

While we are firm advocates that staying overnight on La Digue is always the best choice (we have personally visited La Digue on a day trip on one trip and stayed a few nights on another ourselves), there may be some circumstances that may push you to take a day trip or even an organized day tour instead.

So, we thought we’d break down the options and points to consider in this one!
