Presque Isle State Park is a Gem on the Shores of Lake Erie

Presque Isle State Park is a peninsula located just off the coast of Erie, PA, on Lake Erie. 

I had known about this one's popularity for quite some time in being a citizen of Pittsburgh (just two hours away) but only made it up recently to find out why that is.

To say that this one exceeded expectations is an understatement. My expectations were completely wrong!

7 Breweries in Erie to Check Out Along the Lake Erie Ale Trail

When visiting cities around the USA, one of my goals is to visit as many of the local craft breweries as possible. From checking out the Pittsburgh breweries at home to breweries in Cleveland, Cincinnati, and others, I really like to get out there and sample new brews.

So naturally hitting up the breweries in Erie along the aptly named Lake Erie Ale Trail was on my agenda when exploring the region. In this one, I wanted to share some of the spots I hit up along the way.

The National Museum of Civil War Medicine is Unique

The National Museum of Civil War Medicine in downtown Frederick is an interesting one as it takes a focused look on Civil War history via the medicine of the time.

From the sicknesses and ailments of camp life, the aftermath of a battlefield injury, to the improvements to the medical world at large as a result of the war, the museum does a fantastic job focusing on this unique aspect of history.

In this one, I wanted to share more about why that is, and why this is truly a must-visit museum in downtown Frederick.
