Why I Regret Booking So Many Distillery Tours in Scotland

When we booked our trip to Scotland, we knew we wanted to take a number of distillery tours to learn about Scotch whisky production and find our tastes.

But after we arrived and started talking all of the tours we booked, we realized that the tour element was, in many cases, not entirely necessary. We could’ve got by just fine, if not better, simply tasting at many distillery’s on-site bars.

There are many reasons for this, but perhaps the two biggest are that tours are generally all the same, and we personally enjoy products that are not in tasting flights on entry-level tours.

The F.A.Q. About Driving the Iceland Ring Road

One thing we always see a lot of after visiting an up-and-coming destination is a lot of questions from our friends, family, and readers.

Ignoring the negative, “why on Earth would you want to go there?” type questions, more often than not we end up having a lot of great conversations about why a specific destination will be a must see destination in the very near future (if it isn’t already).

Hilton Labriz Seychelles Review – Paradise on Silhouette Island

When we first began planning our vacation in the Seychelles, we knew we wanted to hit up the Hilton resorts due to Angie’s Diamond status and her obscene number of points (plus extra from our travel rewards credit cards).

We found out that the country has two- the Hilton Northolme on the island of Mahe (also known as the world’s smallest Hilton) and the Hilton Labriz.

The latter of which was an interesting one to come up as it is a private resort on Silhouette Island. An island that, if you removed Hilton from the equation, would consist of just one small village and a little guest house.

We started calling it Hilton’s private island, and after we arrived we have to admit, the Hilton Labriz felt just like that.

5 Museums in Rochester and Upstate NY to Learn Local History

Upstate New York is a fabulous region. There are a number of great attractions, wineries in the Finger Lakes, and even numerous waterfalls in New York to enjoy as well.

In fact, I’ve visited the region a half dozen times over the last few years and still have only begun to scratch the surface of what there is to see.

During a recent visit as part of a media tour before the NATJA conference, I was able to explore the areas of Rochester, Cayuga County, and Syracuse, and spent a fair bit of time exploring some of the historical sights of this interesting region.
