Churrascaria Palace Review – An Authentic Brazilian Spot in Rio

Despite being an infamously picky eater, there is one food type I never shy away from, and that is meat. I often spend my time daydreaming about that perfect steak, succulent pork, or flame grilled chicken.

When I am home in North America I love to frequent the Brazilian barbecue houses and load my plate, so naturally I couldn't pass up the opportunity to eat at an authentic churrascaria while in Rio de Janeiro.

I set my sights (and my appetite) on Churrascaria Palace downtown in Copacabana. Founded in 1951 and still going strong, coupled with the high praise on review sites, I figured it was a good bet.

Watkins Glen is an Unexpected Gem in the Finger Lakes

Watkins Glen State Park, located on the southern tip of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes, feels like something that doesn't belong.

This particular region of upstate New York is full of rolling hills as far as the eye can see as well as numerous glacier carved lakes.  It is not the place where you would expect to find a 400-foot gorge.  But Watkins Glen is just that, and due to its unique location at a very important moment in the Earth's history, the makings of the glen were born.

Corning Museum of Glass – A Must See Museum in New York

The Finger Lakes region of New York is not all about wine, even though Finger Lakes wineries are one of the major reasons we visted. To find out what else this amazing part of the state has to offer we spent quite a bit of time away from the vineyards to explore the nearby cities and museums.

The city of Corning, just south of Seneca Lake, is not famous for wine.  This city is home to one of the largest glass producers in the country as well as one of the largest glass museums you'll ever see.

We may be raving about the wine in the Finger Lakes just like everyone else, but this particular museum truly was the highlight of our visit.

Poznan, Poland with Kids

One of Poland’s oldest cities and the fifth largest in the country, Poznan, is a wonderful place to visit with kids. While visiting the city we were blessed with nice warm weather, which allowed us to do lots of outdoors activities including visiting the city's war memorials, famous parks, zoo, and, one of our favorite activities, the local water park!
