The National Museum of Civil War Medicine Shows a Unique Perspective

The National Museum of Civil War Medicine in downtown Frederick is an interesting one as it takes a focused look on Civil War history via the medicine of the time.

From the sicknesses and ailments of camp life, the aftermath of a battlefield injury, to the improvements to the medical world at large as a result of the war, the museum does a fantastic job focusing on this unique aspect of history.

In this one, I wanted to share more about why that is, and why this is truly a must-visit museum in downtown Frederick.

5 Frederick Breweries to Check Out When Exploring Maryland

I'm becoming quite the beer snob in recent years, and have made it a habit to visit as many breweries as possible when visiting a new city. Naturally, I subsequently publish brewery guides after the visits (like my Cincinnati breweries and Cleveland breweries articles to name a few), and plan on continuing this trend wherever possible.

During my short weekend trip to Frederick, Maryland, I was able to hit up five unique breweries, and have to say I was pleased with the variety in the offerings between them all.
