Watkins Glen State Park, located on the southern tip of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes, feels like something that doesn’t belong.
This particular region of upstate New York is full of rolling hills as far as the eye can see as well as numerous glacier carved lakes. It is not the place where you would expect to find a 400-foot gorge. But Watkins Glen is just that, and due to its unique location at a very important moment in the Earth’s history, the makings of the glen were born.
Key lime pie is one of my all-time favorites, and, true to name, you have no shortage of options when traveling around the Florida keys.
We made it our mission to try as many Key lime pies as we could, from Key Largo to Key West, and certainly ate our fill during our three short days in the area.
But while we could talk about all of the Key lime pies we sampled in this one, instead, we wanted to focus on our three favorites. The best of the best. The Key lime pies we still dream about. The places where you’ll want to immediately order a second slice. The kind of place that I would feel sad if anyone missed- they’re just that good.
