A Guide to Travel in Mexico City – What to See, Do, Eat

The following is a guest post from Claire’s Footsteps.

I consider Mexico City to be one of the most underrated places that I have ever visited. The capital is one of the largest cities in the world, with a fascinating history spanning from ancient empires, through the Spanish invasion, to the present-day melting pot that is the heart of all things Mexican.

Yet, many travellers don’t travel in Mexico City due to fears of its safety. While I’m not going to pretend that the city and country are crime-free, most tourists to both have a hassle-free stay, and it is very easy to avoid being a victim of crime here.

I personally lived in Mexico City as a teenager and have re-visited a few times as an adult, and have loved the place a little more every time. So, if you are thinking about visiting Mexico City for the first time, here are my recommendations of things to see and do, as well as where and what to eat. Enjoy!

9 Animals We Spotted in Murchison Falls National Park

When you go on a safari in Africa, odds are good you’re going to have a favorite spot. That one park that stands out as being leaps and bounds better than the rest.

This is not because the park is actually a better spot, but rather that your experience in the park is the best based on the luck of your itinerary, weather, and chance animal viewings.

In Namibia, ours was Etosha National Park. In Botswana, ours was the Okavango Delta. And on our Uganda safari, ours was Murchison Falls National Park.

While we still did not see the big five (we have never seen a leopard anywhere), we came close, and our animal viewing experience was one of the best we’ve ever had. Today we wanted to share some of our favorite shots of the beautiful creatures we saw!

We’ve been to well over 50 breweries in Pittsburgh (our home), 10 breweries in Cincinnati, and, since we live quite close to Cleveland, have decided to try and visit all of the city’s top breweries during our frequent visits as well!

As such, this post is a summary of all of the breweries we’ve visited to-date, what we like (or dislike) about each, and why you may want to visit for a beer.

So if you’re looking for recommendations of breweries in Cleveland, this one is for you!

Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is a Must Visit in Uganda

As far as Africa safaris are concerned, Uganda one of our favorite trips to date.

This was not just because we went chimpanzee and gorilla trekking in Uganda, but also because of the other wildlife viewing opportunities at places like Queen Elizabeth National Park and Murchison Falls National Park.

But out of all of the animals we spotted during our travels around the country, one was favorite was missing: the rhino.

This is because Uganda no longer has any rhinos remaining in the wild, as poaching and other activities rendered them extinct in the country. But conservation efforts are underway to bring their population back, and for those wanting to help out and see these beautiful creatures, you simply must visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
