Things to Do in Cambodia with Kids (Besides Angkor Wat)

Bamboo Train in Cambodia

We visited 3 places in Cambodia.  We started in Siem Reap after making an overland journey from Thailand.  The next place was Battambang only a 3 hour ride west of Siem Reap and we finished off our tour of Cambodia in the capital Phnom Penh.

Battambang pleasantly surprised us.  It was not on our original list of places to visit in Cambodia but as we just come from Thailand we decided to forgo Sihanoukville and Koh Rong for Battambang.

We loved the small town vibe of the place and that there were not many tourists here.  We were also impressed by the activities that we could do with our children while here as there is so much more to see and do in Cambodia than just the temple of Angkor Wat.   The following are some of our favorites that we took our kids to.

The Best Beaches of Koh Samui for Families

Bang Por Beach

Koh Samui is an Island situated in the Gulf of Thailand about 700km South of Bangkok. Koh Samui is a beautiful island blessed with many beautiful beaches.  The island is about 25 km long and 20 km wide and you can drive around the whole island in a couple of hours.

While you can stay on a Koh Samui beach without transport, it is best to have your own wheels as taxis are very expensive and having a car means you have the freedom to explore the many beautiful beaches on the island. We enjoyed having a vehicle when in Samui as we could go to a different beach everyday.

We visited many different beaches during our two week stay on the island and here is a list of the most family friendly ones.

Warung Indonesia – A Favorite Restaurant in Bali

Morgans Go Travelling at Warung Indonesia in Bali

While in Bali we visited many eateries but Warung Indonesia became a firm favourite and one that we wished we could go back to once we had moved to different parts of the Island.

Warung in Indonesian means little shop.  Many locals put Warung at the front of their restaurant names and that way you know they are local.  Warung Indonesia is located off Poppies 2 in Jalan Benesari close to Legian Street.  As we stayed on Legian Street while in Legian it was only a five-minute walk from our hotel.

The restaurant has an array of local dishes on offer and also has a buffet style offering.  This seemed to very popular with locals as well as tourists, however we did not get around to trying this but everyone seemed to be enjoying their choices.

Nusa Lembongan is a Family Day Trip in Bali Not to Miss

Morgan Family in the Mangrove Forest of Nusa Lembongan

Nusa Lembongan is an island located 30 minutes from Sanur Bali. In addition to the local villages there are hotels, guesthouses, and restaurants so a stay on the island is possible; otherwise many companies offer day trips from Bali.

We decided on a day trip to the island to see if it was somewhere we would want to return to at a later date for a longer stay. The tour included a return fast boat to the island, a mangrove tour, village tour, visit to several beaches on the island, lunch, and time at the Lembongan Beach Club Resort.
