Amazing Boat Tour in Inle Lake Myanmar

After a terrible last three days in Myanmar thanks to food poisoning, I finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel. A light called “Inle Lake”, which happens to be the most awesome place in Myanmar!

We booked a boat tour from our hotel, and only paid 10,000 Kyat ($10 CAD) for the entire day. This included a tour of the Indein Pagoda, which is optional. If you decide to opt out, the tour will only cost 7,000 Kyta ($7 CAD). Local Burmese people have told me if you bargain with the boat operators, you can get it for much less!

Our day started when a representative of the operator picked us up from our hotel and led us to the small boat docks. The walk was quite long, taking us around 20 minutes to reach our desti-nation. However, if this is your first day in Inle Lake, you will get a preview of what the city looks like This should give you an idea of what the city is like if you decide to explore the city later.

Vieques Bioluminescent Bay – Tips for the Best Experience

Are you traveling to Vieques for a vacation? Great! You’re going to absolutely love this little Puerto Rican paradise just off the coast of the main island.

But while you’re exploring the stunning Vieques beaches during your stay, one thing you absolutely must do (and I’m not giving you an option here), is to experience the Vieques Bioluminescent Bay (Mosquito Bay). This wonder of nature is so stunning that we did a tour not once, but twice during our stay on the island and we are certainly glad that we did.

It would be easy for us to say book it, do it (twice), and thank us later, but there are some things you really should know about this attraction before your visit to get the best out of it. Today, we want to share those tips.

A Close Call Crossing Over from Brunei to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia

Crossing from Brunei to Kota Kinabalu was tough mainly because of the lack of information online. The day Karen and myself had to make the trip, we couldn’t find the bus terminal that would take us from Bandar Seri Begawan to Serasa, the city where ferry terminal was located.

Feeling desperate, and not wanting to miss the ferry that typically leaves at 8am, we shelled out $53 USD to hire a taxi just take us from Bandar Seri Begawan to Serasa.

Maropeng – The Cradle of Humankind in South Africa

Whenever I ask people what they did in South Africa, the typical answer is they went on a safari, shark cage diving, and visited Table Mountain in Cape Town. I’ve heard of other places as well, but the one place I rarely hear people talk about is The Cradle of Humankind.

I stumbled upon this place while researching online on what to do in South Africa. It turns out that the Cradle of Humankind is a UNESCO world heritage site where fossils of the earliest ancestors of humans originated.

Upon arriving at the Cradle of Humankind, also called Maropeng by locals, my inner nerd took over as a dome shaped building covered with grass came into sight. I then eagerly went to the ticketing booth, ready to purchase my ticket when the staff asked me if I also wanted to go to Sterkfontein.

“What’s Sterkfontein?” I asked with a confused look on my face.
