For most visitors, the highlight of a trip to Cairo is almost always the majestic pyramids on the Giza plateau and the Sphinx.  As this spot is always on the top of must-see lists, it is not uncommon for it to be the very first place all travelers in Egypt visit. 

As I was visiting Egypt on a guided tour, I already had my stop at the pyramids scheduled for a few days later. Instead, I took the less traveled route and took a day trip even further back in time to the first pyramids Saqarra, Dahshur, and Memphis, Egypt.

The temples of Egypt are completely stunning. There is no other way to put it. 

From the pyramids outside of Cairo to the massive complex of Karnak and the hidden sites at the Valley of the Kings, Egypt has it all. 

One site in particular stands out as being what we consider to be the most beautiful temple in the world: Abu Simbel.

The Do and Don't list is something that I have always enjoyed watching on travel specials and am throwing my hand into the style with this new feature! 

While some of these features are often in the style of “you must do this” and “you might as well miss that,” this version will be formatted in a different way and in no way tell you not to do something major, as my misfortune might be someone else's highlight.

Instead, the “Do” will feature a specific place or thing to do in the destination that is a great site and/or experience, and the “Don't” will spotlight what to keep in mind during that activity that is not well known and publicized when planning the trip.
