There are many ways to follow the Living the Dream network on the internet and more than one way may be the best for your personal interests! The following is a list of all the places you can find me and this project on the web, plus other stories and pictures from trips that I have gone on. Also, many of these sources are great portals for finding other travel bloggers who have great advice to help you plan your next trip!
Living the Dream - Founded September 2008 - The main blog in my network and your current location. Living the Dream follows my attempts to spend one year on the road while on a budget, with hundreds of informative blog posts on the planning and execution phases of a successful around the world trip. My goal with this blog is to have a one stop resource for individuals to be able to plan a RTW trip from start to finish via my postings. My site will not contain all the information that is necessary to plan a trip, but should include all the thought processes and links to sites that will help aid you in all topics that need covered! Posting feed is available here as well.
Living the Dream Photography - Founded December 2008 - My photo portfolio featuring the best photos I have taken from around the world in my many journeys. Each country is featured via a handy drop down bar and makes for easy sorting for your personal preferences. Like a photo and want to purchase it, then the next site is for you...
Living the Dream: Photography Store - Founded April 2010 - The photography store is hosted by Zazzle, a free online product distribution center that sells many products with user submitted photos. The Living the Dream store features my best works of art from my photography blog on various items such as mousepads, calendars, post cards, greeting cards, and more. Like something you see? Proceeds from purchases will directly go to financing my travels. Like a picture and do not see it on something you want? Let me know and I'll put it up for you!
Living the Dream: Daily Travelogues - Founded June 2008 - Unlike the main blog in the network, which features topic specific posts about traveling and planning/executing major trips - my travelogue follows a daily journal approach to travel blogging. All events from every day of my travels have been accounted for in great detail in blogs hosted by Travelpod. Want to know what I did on a specific day in Bangkok in greater detail? This travelogue is for you! I cannot guarantee as great of detail for the RTW trip as I have put in for previous trips, as balancing all these sites will be very time consuming, but I am hoping to get some great content around my daily doings as I go!
On Social Networking Sites
Twitter - @livingdreamrtw - Actively participating in the #rtwsoon and #rtwnow discussions and available to discuss any travel related topics! Tweeting to over 800 followers as of May 2010. I'm always thankful for a retweet and will most certainly reciprocate.
Facebook - livingthedreamrtw - My personal social networking page, all of my daily photos from the road, unsorted, will be hosted on facebook to share with friends and family. Want to see all 30,000+ and hundreds of videos from the road that are not featured on the previous blogs? Friend me and check it out here.
Living the Dream Facebook Fan Page - Blog posts, random thoughts, photos and other favorite topics will be posted on the Facebook fan page. "Like" the page and show your support!
Help Share My Pages!
Stumbleupon - jonesjek - I started a stumbleupon account to help promote some of my favorite blogs and some blog posts on here as well. Still not sure if its going to work yet or not. I think my site may have been excluded from the system or my account is still new, as no traffic comes my way even with others reviews. Either way, if you see something you like, I would be more than grateful for a page review, subscription review, or thumbs up.
Digg - livingthedreamr - Like stumbleupon, I'm trying to get into digg as well. Not really sure how it works at the moment, but if you are on and want to follow, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Got another source for site submission to generate traffic? I'll never say no for a review and will most certainly review your sites if you let me know!
Follow Other Travelers!
Of course, my networks are available to help others plan their trips, but nothing beats reading personal experiences while on the road. Since I'm not going everywhere or know all locations, using other travel bloggers resources is essential. I couldn't have gone nearly as far in planning and executing my trips without some of the following resources that I highly recommend:
#rtwsoon and #rtwnow on Twitter - These discussions are recent developments in the Twitter realm. Myself and a group of other long term travelers initiated a discussion forum to have a place to share articles and discuss pertinent topics that affect long term travelers. If you are on twitter and want to travel long term, you best not be missing out on this.
Living the Dream Twitter Lists: Travel Bloggers and Travel Companies - I've compiled a comprehensive list of travel bloggers and companies on twitter for easy following. Each list exceeds 500 members and is a great way to follow many current travelers to increase your information flow exponentially.
Travel Blogs, Travel Blogs, Travel Blogs! Read all about dozens of travel bloggers long term adventures on the links hosted on my sites sidebar! Get out there, connect, ask questions, and be an informed traveler!
All else fails, email me, and I will get back to you personally!
