- Lonely Planet has unveiled a new platform called the BlogSherpa program in which selected travel bloggers contribute location specific articles under the 'Blogs' section of the website for each destination. In late 2009 Living the Dream was selected to contribute articles to the BlogSherpa program with dozens of other bloggers. Look for more projects from the BlogSherpa bloggers here in the near future!
- Mutual of Omaha toured ~25 cities throughout the country in mid-2010 for their Aha Moment Campaign, interviewing many individuals about their own personal Aha Moment. Jeremy (owner, author of Living the Dream) was selected to come out and interview about travel and talk about writing a travel planning blog. - Multiple travel photos have been featured on MSNBC.com travel photos of the week. Including the ones shown below.
Awards and Recognitions
- Iglu Cruise, a leading cruise planning website, selected a small handful of blogs for the Iglu Cruise Award for the best "Finance & Working" blogs for detailing how to fund travel in July 2010. The "Finance & Working" category is one of 39 different categories over an array of travel related topics.
- TravelPod, the world's leading travel journal website, used some of the pictures taken in previous travels around Europe and the United States to decorate their offices, shown below

- TravelBlogSites' Site of the Day - Created by travelogue company Travelpod, Travel Blog Sites spotlights many bloggers with discussions regarding their site. The current trend with the website is to list the top 100 travel bloggers based on traffic rank and other site evaluations. Living the Dream is fastly approaching joining the exclusive list of top 100 independently run travel sites.
- TripBase created the 'Best Kept Travel Secrets' campaign to raise awareness and money for bringing clean water to developing nations. Each selected blogger was asked to contribute 3 travel secrets for the downloadable e-books which launched in early 2010.
