7 Days To Go...
The dare feature is simple. Email me or post a comment below with what you are interested in me doing at a specific destination. Include your name, email, blog address if applicable, and a suggested donation amount. If the idea is not too crazy, which I don't think most of them would be, and I make it to that region of the world, I'll attempt the dare. Proof of the dare completion will be provided by either photo or video and posted on the blog as well as emailed to you. Once completed, and only when completed, you can give your donation via PayPal to help me travel further!
Dave from Go Backpacking had some suggestions for dares to give you an idea of what can be accomplished in a dare abroad. They include..
Visit a certain monument
Eat a strange food (Durian)
Obtain and mail a souvenir
Go X days without a shower
Take a picture of something
Do a specific activity (clean elephants)

I'm now accepting dares for Asia, including the countries of Japan, China, Hong Kong, Macao, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. Potential dares for other places such as Burma, Laos, and Borneo are possible, but I cannot guarantee that I'll visit them.
As for donations go, here is a little bit of a cost breakdown for what a donation can go for:
$1 - a beer in South East Asia
$7.50 - a night in a hut on a Thai beach
$10 - a night in a decent hostel in Asia
$30 - a full day of travel in Asia/South America
$50 - overnight train ride across China
$75 - a one day budget flight to a new place
$100 - whatever you want it to be!

Hey, I hope you will try the durian. Many people hate it, but I love it.
I want to! I've had durian mixed with other fruit in a jam before and didn't find it revolting, so hopefully the real thing would be good!
I hope you will then make a post about it :) I love different ways people use to describe their durian experience. My fav one is "a week old dirty gym socks".
I sure will! Of course, daring donations never hurt ;). I'm very intrigued why it would taste so horrible.
It's not that it tastes horrible, it's that fresh durian *SMELLS* horrible.
